WAGO Introduces Shield Clamping Saddles

Germantown, WI — WAGO’s 790 Shield Clamping Saddles now come with a patented latching mechanism offering greater usability. Instal lation without force is guaranteed by a spring that can be easily latched open while positioned over the conductor and the busbar, and is just as easily released on the conductor shield. For added safety and con-

venience it offers marking loca- tions to accommodate the WMB marker and multi-line continu- ous marking strip. Ergonomically designed to

ensure enhanced usability, the series has large, recessed grips that make tensioning of the spring less difficult. The spring clamp has been designed to apply a specific amount of pres- sure required for proper contact and shielding effect. The series is available in

specially slotted carrier rail and U-

shaped busbar are also available. Contact: WAGO Corporation,

VARTA Releases New Battery System

Rye, NY — VARTA Micro Group, designer and manufacturer of rechargeable and primary batteries, has released the VARTA Flex System through its subsidiary VARTA Storage GmbH. The Flex System is comprised of a 24kWh lithium-ion battery cabinet, power electronics and a control unit. Optimized for employment in

commercial environments, the new battery system provides a long cycle life in excess of 12,000 cycles at 100 percent depth of discharge. The sys- tem can be adjusted to different size and capacity settings up to 1 MWh. VARTA Storage introduced the sys- tem at Solar Power International.

Designed for use in an array of

solar power systems, the VARTA Flex System is fully compatible with standard 480V, 3-phase AC invert- ers. It is suited for demand response programs enabling commercial cus- tomers to reduce their electricity usage over time. The system is supplied in a ven-

tilated enclosure and may be ordered with battery racks providing from

24kWh to 1000kWh. Contact: VARTA Batteries, 555
