Higher Performance USB Plugs and Sockets from Keystone Electronics

Astoria, NY — Faster data transfer speeds, increased power transmission and smaller PCB footprints are advantages of the new series of USB Type “C” Plugs and Sockets from Keystone Electronics Corp. This latest development in connectivity offers

reduced sizes and greater durability, defining it as small enough to properly function with the small- est peripheral devices. Cables are designed with no orientation; they can be plugged in backwards or upside-down and still function. With the smallest footprint of all USBs, these

interconnects free up space on a PCB to accommo- date a variety of devices. They support USB-1 standards with 10GB/s top speed and up to 20V (100W), 3A output. Bi-directional

Vision Components: New Smart Cameras for OEMs

Ettlingen, Germany — Vision Com - po nents has introduced a compact series of smart cameras capable of high-speed image processing in real time.

The Z-RH-2 series of embedded

cameras is offered for OEM applica- tions where installation space is lim- ited. The smart cameras are e - quipped with a Xilinx® Zynq dual- core Cortex-A9 ARM processor, which clocks at 2 x 866MHz, and has an integrated FPGA running the company’s Linux operating system. The main board of the system is

40 x 65 mm (1.6 x 2.6 in.) while the sensor boards are each 24 x 18 mm (0.9 x 0.7 in.). Two external sensor boards are

connected to the CPU board by 30 or 80 mm (1.2 or 3.15 in.) ribbon cables to enable stereo vision. The design allows for flexible integration into industrial or other applications, such as high-speed and line camera appli- cations. The company also offers models with an onboard sensor or single external sensor for other machine or robot designs. VCSBCnano Z-RH-2 cameras

have 12 programmable inputs and outputs, an optically isolated trigger output, a flash trigger, Gb Ethernet interface, RS232 interface, and I2C interface. They are available with five different CMOS sensors with a global shutter, and resolutions up to 4.2MP. An optional IP67 case, either

with or without integrated optics and lighting, is offered for protection against harsh environments. The company also offers an

FPGA programming service which can accelerate processing speeds many times over. Like all VC cameras, VCSBC -

nano Z series cameras come complete with the VCLib software library, which provides over 300 basic indus- trial image processing functions such

as pattern matching. Contact: Vision Components, 10

MPI Chooses Scienscope X-Scope 6000 X-Ray Unit for it’s Exceptional Value

“The Scienscope X-Scope 6000 is a great

value for a technologically advanced X-ray inspection system. We recently replaced an older competitor system and find that the X-Scope 6000 gives us an edge in getting challenging solder profiles developed for high mass boards with many hidden solder terminations. The quick process feedback, sharply focused images and easy-to-use software has made this machine a big hit with the engineering team!” – Dane Wentworth, Senior Vice President, MPI

The X-Scope 6000 is a digital, fully programmable computer controlled X-ray inspection system that allows operators to program inspection and mea- surement routines with point-and-click ease. It features a high power, 130 kV micro-focus, sealed

x-ray tube, 70° camera tilt for oblique extreme angle inspection and 1,000X system magnifiction. Scienscope also offers various 100 percent auto- mated inline platforms such as the X-Scope 8000 to meet the needs of many different industries.

Versatile USB3.1 interconnects.

power makes the connectors suitable for use with future advancements in the technology of high-def- inition video, and data and charging ports without separate adapters. For circuit board socket use, the USB-C

receptacle offers a hybrid mount configuration aid- ing SMT contact efficiency with strong, durable solder connections to PCBs with THM devices. For standard or custom USB-C cable assemblies, a Type “C” plug kit, supplied unassembled with a

metal housing for strain relief, is also available. Contact: Keystone Electronics Corp., 31-07
