Page 63 Signal Transformer: Power Isolation Transformers
Inwood, NY — Signal Transformer, a division of Bel Fuse, has expanded the certifications of its M4L series of international power isolation trans- formers. The units now meet numerous UL safety standards, including UL 60601-1 (medical electri- cal equipment). The transformers can be customized within a
variety of configurations while maintaining their UL Safety Agency approvals, usually at no addi- tional cost. Incorporating double reinforced insulation,
the transformers are suitable for many applica- tions where safety is a critical concern including fire alarms and security systems, emergency light- ing, deep mining and exploration, hot tubs, spas and medical devices connected to patients. Low- loss silicon steel is used in the construction and meets UL 94V0 flammability standard. In addition, the UL Class F-rated insulation
system permits operating tempera- tures up to 80°C (176°F). Non-concen- tric construction benefits isolation; less than 30µA leakage current, and more than 12 mm of creepage distance between the primary and secondary windings. All M4L transformers are rated to 4kV high potential, though they have been successfully tested to 12kV without breakdown. The UL certification of the
series includes safety standards UL 60601-1, UL 60950-1, UL 1097, and UL 2097. These approvals mean the parts can be used in products and appliances covered by a variety of UL standards including 864, 913, 916, 924, 1012, and 1238.
AEM Releases SMD Chip
Fuses San Diego, CA — AEM Components has released its latest series of fast- acting, thin-film SMD chip fuses, with current ratings from 0.15 to 5A. The company’s thin-film process
Engineered to facilitate secure and rapid con-
nectivity as well as to prevent accidental shock, the series has terminals that are safe to touch (IP20) and have a screw clamp for hard wiring, along with 3/16 in. (50 mm) and 1/4 in. (63 mm) connections. Their compact size and vertical- mount configuration allows them to fit in enclo- sures with limited space. Parts are offered with power rating of 300,
450, 600, or 1000VAC and input voltages range from 100 to 480V. The transformers are supplied in four sizes ranging from 4.2 x 4.08 x 3.75 in. (106.7 x 103.5 x 95.3 mm) to 4.9 x 5.7 x 5.25 in.

technology and alloy based metal fuse element design allow the T0603FF series fuse to combine low DCR and withstand high in-rush cur- rents. The new series of fuses is suit- able for battery-powered applications including notebook computers and tablets, cameras, toys, Bluetooth ear- phones, wearables and other por - table electronic devices. The device has a low profile of
0.3 mm, is lead-free, halogen free, RoHS compliant, and compatible with lead-free reflow soldering pro - cesses. The fuses are now available
