Intellitech iJTAGServer for IP Block Verification

The Nation’s Hi-Tech Electronics Publication Subscribe today: www.US-Tech.com

Dover, NH — Intellitech Corporation, a test solutions provider for lab and PCB production applications, has developed interoperability between its NEBULA silicon debugger, the Intel - litech iJATGServer bridge, and the Synopsys VCS® functional verification environment. This verification and programming system enables IP providers to develop and validate com- puter readable IEEE compliant descriptions for Silicon Instru - ments™. Silicon Instrument documenta-

tion is developed using the company’s NEBULA software as a front end, and the Synopsys VCS verification envi- ronment provides the expected responses and code coverage metrics. NEBULA reads IEEE 1249.1-2013

compliant IP models that describe the Silicon Instrument abstractly and uses 1149.1 Proce dural Description Language (PDL) to perform data transaction to and from the instru- ment in simulation as would occur in a real System on Chip (SoC). Once PDL for a Silicon is validated using

Synopsys VCS, the same PDL docu- mentation can be reused by the SoC integrator and the ATE engineer without concern for the documenta- tion correctness or robustness of the

New 32kHz Quartz Crystals from Geyer

El Cajon, CA — New from Geyer Electronics is a 32kHz quartz crystal design for oscillator circuits which reportedly reduces circuit power con- sumption by 40 percent. In a series of extensive test procedures, the com- pany’s engineers determined that the 32kHz design not only opens up a broader range of lower power appli- cations, but also contributes to improved start-up performance, fas - ter start-up time, and stable opera- tion for lower drive levels. Further details of the procedural

results may be examined by access- ing “32kHz Design Crystals for Lower Power Applications” at the company’s website. An overview of the company’s “World of Tuning Forks” may also be accessed there. The firm has also developed a

new addition to its website — the “Design & Test Center.” The “Analyzing & Simulation

Tool Y-Quartz App” is a functional tool that aids designers and engi- neers in the process of selecting crys- tals and optimizing oscillator cir- cuits. It is complete with an instruc- tional video.

Phoenix Contact Intros Pluggable Surge Device

Middletown, PA — Phoenix Contact, Inc. has introduced the VAL-MS BE/O, which is the first pluggable surge protective device (SPD) for use in a rack-mounted enclosure. The 2U high (3.5 in./89mm) base

element maximizes surge protection density, allowing up to 24 VAL-MS SPDs in a common 2U high, 19 in. wide rack enclosure. The VAL-MS BE/O has an

orthogonal base element designed for both AC and DC applications. The base accepts all of the company’s VAL-MS series of pluggable SPDs, including the VAL-MS 60 and VAL- MS T1/T2 48. The VAL-MS BE/O is easy to mount on DIN rail, has a pluggable interface through the front of the enclosure, and wiring in the back.
