Page 125 Henkel Upgrades Loctite Instant Adhesives

Rocky Hill, CT — The latest upgrades to low odor, low bloom Loctite Instant Adhesives from Henkel Corporation maintain bond strength in high- humidity environments while deliver- ing temperature resistance to 200°F (93.3°C). Virtually free of pungent odors, Loctite® 403™, Loctite 408™, Loctite 455™ and Loctite 460™ low odor, low bloom instant adhesives minimize frosting near the bond line, maintain fast fixture speeds, and pro- vide bond strengths of 2600 psi on dry or acidic surfaces. The four upgraded low odor, low

bloom Loctite Instant Adhesives are especially suitable for applications where the esthetics of the end product are critical. The instant adhesives min- imize the frosty, white film that some- times develops near the bond line of traditional instant adhesives, and offer a reduced chemical smell for work in confined spaces or areas with low air flow. Loctite low odor, low bloom prod- ucts are available for gap filling, wick- ing into tiny spaces, bonding porous surfaces, and bonding close-fitting parts. All four products resist temper- atures to 200°F (93.3°C), cure on dry or acidic surfaces, and bond to a wide

KOA Speer Intros Mini Metal Plate Resistors

Bradford, PA — KOA Speer Elec - tronics is introducing the TLR1E, one of the first metal plate resistors in a 0402 package available in the world. The new resistor has a 10mW resistance value with a TCR of ±100ppm/°C.

range of substrate materials. Each of the four upgraded adhe-

sives is formulated to cover a range of assembly requirements. Loctite 403 is

a medium-viscosity cyanoacrylate adhesive that fills gaps to 0.008-in. (0.203mm), while Loctite 408 is a water-thin wicking grade adhesive

designed to fill gaps as small as 0.002- in. (0.051mm). Loctite 460 is a low-vis- cosity grade specifically formulated to work on close-fitting parts with gaps up to 0.004-in. (0.1mm). Excellent for porous surfaces, Loctite 455 is a non- drip gel that fills gaps to 0.010-in. (0.254mm). All four grades provide

shear strength to 2600 psi. Contact: Henkel Corp., 14000

0402 package miniature metal plate resistors.

Available in 2 percent or 5 per-

cent resistance tolerance, the TLR1E incorporates metal alloy, offering superior corrosion and heat resist- ance. The new 0402 size also has an ultra-low height with a thickness of 0.25mm and a power rating of 0.2W. Especially suitable for telecom-

munications and consumer electron- ics, the new resistor type is excellent for applications such as handheld devices, computing devices, tablets and computers. The company’s TLR series

metal plate current sense resistors offer high reliability and perform- ance with TCR as low as +75ppm/°C and an ultra-low resistance range of 1 to 20mW. Other power ratings include 0.5W, 1W and 2W in a ±1 percent tolerance. The TLR resistor is used for voltage division, pulse

applications and current sensing. Contact: KOA Speer Electronics,
