micropigmentation

how you can offer micropigmentation

“All permanent cosmetics technicians must be registered with their Local Authority, plus all working locations must be inspected and registered also,” explains Karen. “The highest standards of infection controlmust be followed and Nouveau Contour offers a full day of training in infection control procedures – it comes as standard in all our permanent cosmetics training packages.”

There are two ways you can offer Micropigmentation to your clients. Firstly, you can recruit a trained Micropigmentation technician to come and hold regular, saymonthly, clinics in one of your treatment rooms. They will provide the equipment required, and you provide the roomto work and the clients. Some will charge a flat fee whilst others will work on a profit share or commission basis. If this is the option you choose, make sure that you are working with someone fully qualified to a high standard.

“There aremany sub standard technicians out there who have not received adequate training and hygiene knowledge and are trying to cash in on these lucrative treatments. They are using inferior quality devices and pigments and are putting the general public’s safety at risk so the importance of finding a reputable practitioner cannot be stressed enough,” warnsAndrew Stassi.

Your other option, whichmay prove to bemore financially lucrative in the long- termand definitely worth considering if you find that regular clinics in your salon take off, is training in the techniques yourself. However, experts warn to be careful that you choose the right training provider, asAndrew comments: “The simple fact is there are only a handful of reputable schools in the UK who can offer the skills and level of training in order to succeed.

“Most technicians who choose to attend a reputable training provider will be trained using themost up-to-date in digital technology which employs single- use safety cartridges. This is the only systeminternationally which prevents contaminant flow-back into the hand piece so it’s the preferred systemused by leading training providers. The cartridge has an inbuilt patentedmembrane, which isolates the pigment into the needle housing, thus reducing the risks of cross infection.”

your training options

There are a number of very reputable training providers offering Micropigmentation courses in the UK, so we spoke to a number of them to offer you some options…

Smudge-free

Smudge-free specialise in Brow- recreation. Their Eyebrow tattooing hair-stroke technique recreates the eyebrows by simulating each hair. Men, as well as women, can benefit from eyebrow cosmetic tattooing using the hair-stroke technique, with the final results undetectable and remaining very masculine. The Smudge-free technique uses 4-Flat needle grouping and two different tones to create a 3D effect.

The company’s Lip tattooing technique has been developed byAndrew Stassi, with the primary purpose of to intensifying the colour of the lips to establish even and more pronounced borders as well as to enhance or correct the shape of the lips.

The Eyelash Enhancement procedure is for clients who do not want the distinctive look of fully made-up eyes, but require a thicker appearance of lash density. This procedure is also suitable for men who require a more defined lash appearance but still remain very masculine.

The procedure is carried out by placing tiny dots along the lash line at varying depths to produce a peppered effect rather than hundreds of identical dots.

Thick eyeliner tattooing is an enhancement for clients who require a more profound statement around the eyes. Dramatic eyeliner or soft and subtle can all be achieved once the pigments are expertly placed strategically.

Smudge-free offerMicropigmentation training at all levels, from beginners up to advanced paramedical procedures. The Basic Course covers Eyes, Lips and Eyebrows and, as a foundation course, will teach you Smudge-free techniques. Smudge-free Advanced Semi-permanent Cosmetics courses will teach you more intricate procedures including Double Eyeliner in two colours, volume simulation on lips and multi-pigment techniques for 3D effect eyebrows. Fully qualified

technicians can also take the ParamedicalAdvanced Course, as well as the Removal course which enables you to help clients who have undergone unsatisfactory Micropigmentation treatments elsewhere.

For those already working in the industry, conversion courses incorporating the latest Smudge-free techniques and the latest in digital equipment and pharmaceutical grade pigments produced in Germany, are also available.
