Approaching 100 skin therapists enjoyed the IDI’s Skinsight congress. IDI’s Skinsight success


Approaching 100 skin therapists and business owners enjoyed an educational day at the International Dermal Institute’s Skinsight congress.


Held at IDI’s headquarters in Surrey, Skinsight comprised of a full day of presentations fromskin experts, a BBQ lunch and a chance to network with other industry professionals.


Keynote speaker Dr Diana Howard,Vice President of Research and Development for both the IDI and Dermalogica®, shared her knowledge of ingredient technology with a special emphasis on how ingredients impact the structure and function of skin. Other topics included Eczema, ConsumerTrends, MedicalAesthetics and Hormones.


Light therapy boosts inch loss clinics


Body Boutique, a chain of nine specialist body enhancement clinics in London and the South, have introduced their clients to Lipo-Light, which uses LED light therapy to aid inch loss.


“Our philosophy is to help people to achieve their ideal body and make a significant change in their life, without the need for surgery, chemicals or lengthy recovery periods.We wanted to offer treatments that people could have at any time and then continue as normal with their day and Lipo-Light fits that bill perfectly,” explainsWayne Elliott, director and joint-owner of Body Boutique.


The Farnham branch of Body Boutique, which is run as an independent clinic within an existing beauty salon, has averaged more than £1,250 per week in revenue from its Lipo-Light system so far.


Due to its success with Lipo-Light, another seven licensed Body Boutique clinics are due to open this year within London and surrounding areas.

NewSpa excellence centres open


Luxury Spa skin care brand Comfort Zone has launched UK Centres of Excellence in London and Glasgow, to provide Spa education and training for Spa managers and therapists nationwide.


The two Centres of Excellence have opened atThe Spa at Dolphin Square in London and the RoyalTerrace Hotel in Glasgow, and sit alongside the flagship Comfort Zone education zone inTamworth. Each education venue will offer the full selection of Comfort Zone courses.


VictoriaTrueman, National TrainingManager for Comfort Zone says: “Education and training are a vital component of the Comfort Zone partnership with our Spas. By opening our Centres of Excellence and taking our education nationwide, this enables us to be accessible to a larger proportion of our Spa therapists and facilitate themfor regular training in a working Spa environment”


Two new educational classes have also been introduced: Retail Revival and Knowledge Booster.
