light-based skin treatments
The body's natural healing process then rebuilds treated tissue with new collagen and elastin, which are the building blocks of youthful looking skin. The Emerge laser can improve skin tone and texture, reduce the appearance of mild to moderate wrinkles and clear pigmented lesions.
There are three easy, intuitive treatment modes offered by the machine:Manual Activation (Stamping) for focussed area treatments,AutoGlide for faster treatments andAutoStamp for ease of use.

The tabletop, lightweight size means the machine is easily portable, so makes an ideal choice for mobile therapists looking for a compact system. There are also no consumables or on-going costs meaning the system is a low cost entry into fractional laser treatments for those on a budget.
Another ideal machine for treating post- acne scarring is the Energist FRx fractional CO2 laser system that promotes the renewal of the epidermis and the reduction of even long-termAcne scarring. By focussing on localised points of tissue in a grid pattern whilst leaving untouched tissue between, significant skin healing, tissue tightening and collagen stimulation is promoted.

Before and after treatment of photoageing, using Crystal Clear’s IPL system.
Intense Pulsed Light (or IPL as it is more commonly known) uses rapid bursts of light to stimulate the skin into creating more collagen. Instead of delivering a single beam of light like standard lasers, IPL can send hundreds of wavelengths of different colours within each flash of light. Special filters then concentrate the light bursts so that they can be used effectively to treat skin conditions such as pigmentation. The light is absorbed by the melanin which causes pigmentation and damages tissues, and then the body’s natural process removes the damaged tissue, leaving a clearer and more youthful appearance.
ForAcne sufferers, the intense pulsed light system can be set to release yellow, green and red light which is emitted in a series of short pulses. When combined the yellow and green light work together to destroy the bacteria that is within the skin and causeAcne, whilst the red light simultaneously targets the overactive sebaceous glands that cause the spots and breakouts. The inflamed sebaceous glands are shrunk by the treatment and this helps to prevent over-production of excess sebum that can causeAcne.
IPL treatments can improve the appearance of pigmentation and sun- damaged skin, removing age spots and redness caused by broken capillaries on the face and body. For patients with active lifestyles the treatment is ideal because there is no downtime after treatment and the risk of side effects is very low. It can also be used on any part of the body such as the face, chest, hands and neck, which are all areas that can be exposed to the sun and subsequently damaged.
Although IPL is a relatively new invention, it’s gaining popularity amongst clients looking for an answer to problematic skin. It was commercially launched as a medical device in 1994, but in the following years multiple technical modifications have allowed for easier handling, increased safety and widened the spectrum of potential treatments.
Since the development of the systems that deliver IPL, it is now a lot more commonly used by salons and clinics, and can be a great addition to any salon menu for therapists looking to offer a light-based treatment.
Skin rejuvenation with Crystal Clear IPL can treat vascular redness, the appearance of Rosacea, pigmented brown spots, sun damage, skin texture and collagen structure all at once. This technique treats skin damage non- invasively and there is no disruption of the skin's epidermal surface. The treatments offered by the system address the effects of photo-ageing and sun damage with low risk of complications and virtually no recovery time.
The Crystal Clear IPL system achieves these cosmetic results by using light energy at the appropriate wavelength, pulse duration and energy density, delivering it to the target area with minimal interaction with the surrounding healthy skin structures. For example, your client may want to target melanin within their pigmented blemishes or Acne scarring.
The treatment ofAcne with Crystal Clear IPL can help clients manage their skin problem and allow relief from continued use of antibiotics or where Isotretinoin therapy is contra-indicated. The treatment does not cureAcne but assists the production of natural porphyrins to fight theAcne by producing singlet oxygen that destroys the bacteria that causes it. Crystal Clear IPL can penetrate to the sebaceous duct and sebaceous gland where the bacteria are produced, and get right down to the source of the problem.
