iswhat the manufacturers say true?

Lisa Dunlop sheds some light on UV lamps and why it’s important to use the right lamp with your products.

It is a well-known fact that when we have a problem using products it is not uncommon for us to call themanufacturer and ask for their advice.

Let’s face it, that’s what they are there for and a good company should want to help you as its in their best interest to ensure that you are using their products to the best of their ability otherwise you’ll just look elsewhere.

I think it’s worth saying at this point that it’s definitely worth staying with a product company if they offer sound, concrete and supportive advice.

So why is it that the manufacturers always say the same thing when you are having problems with your Gels - which lamp are you using? If you reply with “well I bought the lamp from such and such and am using your products”, they will immediately start blaming the lamp!

Well I am afraid that on this occasion I must stand by them and totally agree. I have done much research on the subject and have looked much more deeply into what really makes lamps so different.

Next time you are having any kind of issue with your lamp, consider whether the Gels you are using and the lamp have come from the same

manufacturer.Although investing in a different lamp for each different Gel system you use means that you could end up with several lamps, if you really want the best performance and more importantly the satisfaction and guarantee that the Gel is completely cured, then you must use the Gel and the lamp that were created to work together.

vigorous product testing

Several things are taken into consideration by a manufacturer when a lamp and the Gels are produced and it is generally the product that is set to work with the lamp, not the other way around. That way every time a new product is launched, they go through vigorous tests to ensure that the Gel has cured 100%throughout the layers with the existing lamp.

The main factors that are taken into account are the distance between the bulbs - this is to ensure that the Gel gets a good even cure from all angles. The other main factor is the distance between the bulbs and the fingers; you wouldn’t believe how much they vary from one lamp to another. This could be the difference between the Gel being 100%set and only 75-85%set.

Not using the recommended lamp with the products you use could lead to the Gel not curing 100%.

The piece of equipment to test the lamps and the Gels is extremely expensive and so I am afraid not something that you can purchase from a cheap internet site. They are generally only owned by the labs that produce the products and the manufacturers themselves.
