Door closer hits the right notes Samuel Heath’s Perko Powermatic®

controlled, concealed door closer

has been used in the development of a new music school at Godolphin and Latymer, an independent girls’ school in West London. A glazed, full- height atrium connects the two buildings, introducing a light, airy note that is continued throughout the music school. Essential to maintaining the feeling of openness and informality has been the selection of hardware and, in particular, the selection of door closers for the fire doors that divide the corridor which runs along the entire length of the school’s upper floor. literature A glowing report

SAFETYWORKS & Solutions new western region office in Shifnal, Shropshire, got off to a flying start by delivering an efficient installation programme and a range of roof safety systems for Abergele School in Wales, thereby providing maintenance operatives with safe access around, and onto the five roof areas within the school grounds. It was essential that the school remained uninterrupted whilst the work was carried out, therefore a weekend installation was necessary. Utilising a special crane lift and their own fleet of lorries and experienced personnel, SAFETYWORKS & Solutions were able to complete the installation on time.

Long term solution to leaking flat roofs

Pace delivers practical acoustic design

The Elastaseal range of high performance cold liquid applied coating systems, from Tor Coatings, is specifically designed to eliminate problems associated with the long term waterproofing of flat roofs. Products in the technically advanced Elastaseal range provide a fast drying, seamless surface that encapsulates the roof substrate to provide a completely joint free coating thereby eliminating the risk of leaks. Life cycle performance is dependent on the system chosen but ranges from between 10 and 25 years (BBA approved). Click here to request literature

PUBLIC SECTOR REVIEW

Providing excellent outdoor facilities

Kader Primary School is located in a residential suburb of Middlesbrough and has more than 380 pupils. Although there is a large playing field attached to the school, its use for curriculum activities often has to be restricted, thanks to the British weather. When the school decided to extend their building, a key requirement was to provide an inside/outside teaching and play area that would not be restricted by poor weather. Extensive discussions were held with the architect and much research was undertaken by the school before a decision was made to employ “Inside2Outside” to provide a Pocca canopy as part of the works.
