Durapipe makes its debut at Media City A wide range of pipework solutions from the Durapipe UK Building Services portfolio has been utilised within the prestigious Media City development in Salford Quays in Manchester. The four year project will see a purpose-built home for creative and digital businesses, with the first phase, spread over 36 acres, completed in 2011. As part of the project, two residential buildings will be constructed; Building A and Building B. Contractors Hirst and Danson have been brought on board to look after the residential elements of the construction and turned to Durapipe UK for the pipework requirements. Kaba Door Systems announce new structure
Kaba Door Systems have announced changes to their operational structure to further excel in customer satisfaction, to focus expertise and increase efficiency. From 1st July
2009, Kaba created two new divisions, After Sales Division and Industrial Doors Division. The After Sales Division located in Ringwood, Hampshire, will focus on all automatic and industrial door repair and maintenance contracts. The new division will coordinate all administration for the already established nationwide network of repair and maintenance engineers and will focus on effective planning, exceptional quality and installation excellence, providing an unsurpassed customer facing service. Innovative solutions Stormsaver, has secured a new contract with one of the most innovative buildings in the East Midlands. Stormsaver have been commissioned to supply a 15,000 litre below-ground system to the Corby Cube. The Corby Cube is one of the latest public buildings to meet the BREEAM Excellence standard for sustainability. Inspired by the concept of an art deco jewellery box with patterns of black and mirrored glass, its 1,406m2
up to 801m3
of roof area will capture of rainwater, which

Polypipe Water Management Solutions (WMS), has recently supplied a holistic SUDS solution with a contract value of £170,000 as part of a Prison extension scheme. Polypipe WMS re-engineered the original drainage specification from corrugated steel to its structured-wall Ridgidrain pipe, supplying over 7km in total. As part of the holistic water management solution used on-site, eight Eco-Vat Rainwater Harvesting tanks (one with a 40,000 litre capacity and seven with a 9,000 litre capacity) were installed in addition to 2200 Polystorm cells to create an attenuation structure with a total capacity of over 400,000 litres.
