North Ridge High School is part of the first phase of the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme in Manchester. The school has been recently redeveloped to provide modern education and leisure facilities. Classic curves Franke’s new Basel tap has a pleasing symmetry to make it “a future design classic”, believes the firm. The new Basel tap is part of Franke’s Specialist range, a collection of precision-made taps, combining design with quality. The tap’s design is simple yet chic, with a high, curved spout, making it easy to get large pans underneath, a curved base and smooth lever-style handles for easy operation. A ceramic disc mechanism provides smooth operation, within a bried quarter-turn rotation. For splash-free operation the nozzle has a built-in perlator, which adds tiny air bubbles to the water, softening the flow.
New grease busters
keep kitchen drains clear A new range of grease busting products has just been launched by leading pump manufacturer RF Electronic Controls Ltd. Those in the hotel and catering industry will understand the need to keep pipes and drains free of grease for reasons of hygiene and the efficient running of kitchens. Indeed there is some legislation in place to prevent blockages of drains. The Grease Buster ETI 20 from RFE is a cleverly designed unit, which injects an enzyme into the kitchen waste outlet to prevent drain blockage problems caused by grease or fat build-up.
