Surespan has designed a cover for hot tubs which automatically opens at the touch of a button. The covers are custom made to fit any shape or size of hot tub and to match all types of surround, such as paving, tiling or decking. When the hot tub is not in use, it is completely concealed by the cover, allowing the space to be used for other purposes. Marketing Director Graham Lewis comments: “Our covers are unique as they allow people to have a hot tub within even the smallest of outside terraced areas without losing any space. They also protect the hot tub against heat loss, leaves and other contamination.” A warning sound alerts people the cover is opening and closing, which can be operated by either a key switch or remote control, making them child-safe. For additional safety a push button is located underneath the cover. Pete Haslam, who recently had a Surespan cover installed on his hot tub, commented: “I am so impressed with the hot tub cover I have commissioned Surespan to supply an additional one for my hot tub at my home in Florida.”

Limescale protection
The Saipa Shishe Company, located in Qazvin, Iran, produce specialist glass such as laminated and tempered automotive glass, safety glass, and bullet proof glass. During production, the autoclave is loaded with the glass, and the internal temperature increased to 150o
C and a pressure of
180psi for approximately 60 minutes. However, due to the hardness of the water at the Saipa Shishe Company, limescale build up was a major problem, and the coils of the autoclave needed to be manually descaled every two months with the use of strong chemicals. As a result, the maintenance team at the Saipa Shishe Company looked into chemical free alternatives to prevent limescale, and decided to trial the AquaKlear P-100 from Hydropath.
