STRUCTURES 39
Boise cutting down low carbon construction The owner of a design and build company in the Republic of Ireland has chosen to use BCI joists from Boise Cascade as the structural core to a new wall and roof construction. Offering optimum energy performance for both domestic and non-domestic building types. The BCI Joists were supplied by A-Frame, authorised distributor of Boise Cascade Engineered Wood Products, providing design and processing services. Stephen Young and his wife Sharon have built themselves a very modern, but highly sustainable, four-bedroom home on a sloping greenfield site in County Louth. Click here to request literature

Located in Crediton, Devon and Ramsey, Huntingdonshire, the new stores will showcase the vast environmental and aesthetic appeal offered by engineered glulam timber and will enhance the already impressive reputation B & K Timber Structures has carved out in the retail sector. The new store at Ramsey will be the world’s first zero-carbon store.
