Polysafe Mosaic wins historic TV role The eye-catching decoration of Polysafe Mosaic sheet vinyl safety flooring from Polyflor Ltd has won the product a starring role in “Casualty 1909”, a new BBC TV hospital drama set at the dawn of the 20th century. Salford-based flooring contractor MB Flooring Services supplied over 400m2 of Polysafe Mosaic for the project which was designed and specified by Wards Scenic Services of Manchester. In the real world, non-directionally patterned Polysafe Mosaic is suitable for a number of commercial areas where slip resistance is required, including corridors, receptions and general circulation areas. underfloor heating Underfloor Heating Supplies Ltd has recently supplied suspended floor and plated underfloor heating systems for the renovation of a church hall into six modern apartments. The Komfort system was specified to provide a heat effective solution for the high ceilings in the building, particularly for the first floor apartments in which a second balcony floor was constructed in the additional ceiling space. Underfloor heating is effective in buildings with high ceilings such a churches, public halls and period homes as the low surface temperature radiates heat upwards slowly to a height of approximately 2 metres. A leading performance The Royal Festival Hall is part of London’s Southbank Centre complex and is a leading performance venue. BU Interiors were faced with resurfacing one of the hall’s busy service corridors and chose to use sub-floor preparation products from Ultra Floor’s range of levelling & smoothing compounds and primers from Instarmac plc. Efficiency was key during this project as the running of such a renowned tourist attraction could not be disrupted due to contractual work. Contractors from BU Interiors worked out of normal hours to secure the successful completion of this project, and their efforts were supported by the high performance of Ultra Floor’s newest self-levelling compound, Level IT SmoothFlow and the brand’s primer – Prime IT N, specifically designed for non-porous substrates.
