BUILDERS MERCHANTS: A-Z HIGHBOURNE GROUP H Highbourne Group
IN MAY 2021, Travis Perkins sold its Plumbing & Heating division to H.I.G Capital, which now operates as The Highbourne Group. Its primary trading brands are City Plumbing Supplies and Plumbing Trade Supplies, alongside several specialist online outlets with diverse product offerings.
Since the acquisition, City Plumbing Supplies has continued to expand, opening new branches in Glasgow, Dereham, Winsford and Bude, and arranged a partnership to outsource operations at its national distribution hub to GXO, the world’s largest pure-play contract logistics provider. This partnership is expected to start from June 2022.
In April 2022, the Highbourne Group acquired Plumbworld, which was one of the first online bathroom retailers, in order
to complement the business’s existing portfolio, strengthening its branch and online capabilities for trade customers, and increase customer convenience for domestic customers.
Dave Evans, Chief Executive Officer at The Highbourne Group, said: “We are delighted to welcome Plumbworld into the Highbourne Group family of businesses and see Plumbworld as highly complementary to our existing customer propositions. James Hickman and the management team at Plumbworld have built the leading online bathroom retailer in the UK and I look forward to working with them to accelerate their growth initiatives. The acquisition of Plumbworld enables us to take our proven trade customer proposition and market leading supply chain to retail customers too.”

The accounts for Highbourne Group at Companies House do not go back far enough for the formula in the Trailblazers tables to cope with, hence there is no financial table. We will include one in the 2023 Trailblazers.
