AROUND SINCE 1882, Alsford Timber began selling timber and fencing in South West London. It is now the largest timber merchant in the South East England.

As well as sourcing and machining its own timber, the company supplies decking, fencing, sheet materials, insulation, flooring, doors and timber buildings as well as timber related products such as power tools, ironmongery, adhesives, paint via a branch network that stretches from Bromley to Wimbledon and New Malden to Guildford and Edenbridge.

AW LUMB WAS established in 1964 and family owned until a management buyout in 2017. It was acquired by the Lords Group in March 2022, and the existing senior magament team is remaining. AW Lumb operates in the North of England from depots in Dewsbury and Tamworth. It has a general merchanting service, with offerings in building materials, garden landscaping, timber & joinery and roofing products. The business also provides a specialist offering in drylining and insulation to housebuilders.
