• There are also four things you can do to “be responsible” while online:


– Follow the rules and policies established by each program, game, or app you use.


– Treat people with respect, just as you would if you were talking to them in person.


– Report cyber-bullying, abusive behavior, and inappropriate content.


– Share your online activities with your parent and get their permission to download or purchase games and apps.

GAME: DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP


[Designate one side of the room the “safety” wall and post the Safety Rules on that wall. Designate the opposite corner of the room the “responsibility” wall and post the Responsibility Rules on that wall.]


• Hand out a Digital Citizenship card to each student and ask the students to determine what rule should be followed for each card. Keep handing out the cards until all the cards are gone.


• Give students a few minutes to read their card and decide which wall their card belongs on.


• After the students have posted their cards to the walls, read each card out loud and ask students which rule on the poster applies to their card.
