Now let’s play one of my favorite games – BINGO!
GAME: BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT BINGO [Distribute Bingo cards to the students, and explain the rules.]
• Let students take turns rolling the die and calling out which Behavior Management Tip they rolled.
• Players should look at their cards for an example of the tip that was rolled. If they have it, they put a bingo marker on that square. They might have several examples of the same tip, but they can only put down one marker at a time.
• Whoever gets four in a row in any direction gets to call “BINGO!” Encourage energetic calling out when they get a bingo. It’s more fun if they also get a small prize.
• For the first several winners, “check” their cards by having them read their examples and say which Behavior Management Tip it is.
• Keep playing as time allows (usually only 1-2 games). You may let them keep the same markers on their cards and keep going in the second game to try to let everyone get bingo.
Most of the time, you can use these tips to handle difficult behavior. But sometimes, you will need help from a back-up adult. And in some instances, you may need to call 9-1-1 because there is a threat to life.

I’m going to ask you how you would handle different situations, and I want you to find the answer on your Behavior Aid Chart. [Point out that the Behavior Aid Chart is organized by age group.]

Allergies are very common, and it’s important to be aware of the allergies of those around you, including friends, neighbors, and children you are babysitting. Why would you want to be aware that a friend, neighbor, or child you babysit has an allergy?
• How would you handle a preschooler who has a potty training accident? (Handle yourself. Clean child and change child’s clothes if needed. Do not scold or tease child.)

Comfort infant by cuddling, gently rocking, softly talking, slowly walking infant, or offering pacifier. Call back-up adult if infant cries for more than 20 minutes.
