LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of this section, students will be able to: • Explain the three keys to success: – Be prepared – Be responsible – Be considerate
• Use their ASAP job screening skills to determine if they should accept a babysitting job.
• Discuss what information they need to share with their parents for safety reasons. • Determine when it is appropriate to cancel a job. • Demonstrate their greeting skills.
GUIDED DISCUSSION
Whether you are babysitting, mowing lawns, or doing odd jobs for family or friends, success on the job depends on three things: being prepared, being responsible, and being considerate. These three things are the keys to success.
Success on the job begins with BEING PREPARED. What does it mean to be prepared? (To be ready.)
Being prepared means you are ready, willing, and able to perform that job. In order to know if you are prepared, you need to screen each job for four things:
