PARTNER CONTENT FOR BANGKOK PUBLISHING RESIDENCE

Bangkok Publishing Residence BANGKOK, THAILAND

Originally a family-owned printing house, Bangkok Publishing Residence comprises eight uniquely decorated luxury suites. The aim is to keep alive the memories of the publication that was printed here, the famous Bangkok Weekly magazine, not least because production ceased at around the same time as the hotel first opened its doors. Sharing knowledge of the printing technolog

through the ages was one of the other main aims. This has been carefully interwoven into the decor and various other facets of the hotel’s design. No details were overlooked, especially when it comes to the scent of the hotel, where a special blend of essential oil was specifically crafted and infused into most amenities. All signage designs and packaging, right down to the typography, were also heavily inspired by Bangkok Weekly. Most of the furniture and decorative

items have been cherry picked from the former printing factory too. A number of old typewriters and other printing machinery are

on display throughout the property. Guests are encouraged to interact directly with these interesting relics from the past. A complete archive of the original Bangkok

Weekly — which was printed on site up until around 60 years ago — is also carefully preserved, and guests may request a viewing of the old magazines. The residence functions as a luxury bed

and breakfast with all the creature comforts of a five-star hotel, as well as being a museum. Only guests are allowed access to the residence, which has a security guard posted at the door 24 hours a day to ensure guests’ safety and privacy. The communal rooftop garden is also used

to grow organic fruits and vegetables, which guests may pick for breakfast. There’s also an extensive library and plenty of quiet corners for enjoying a good book. The hallmark of Bangkok Publishing

Residence is the world-famous Thai hospitality, which will have guests feeling like they’re living in a typical Thai home.

Don’t miss An expedition around the old printing house museum, plus a dip in the whirlpool bath on the rooftop during sunset
