Dusit Thani Maldives BAA ATOLL, MALDIVES
Dusit Thani Maldives is located on its own 40-acre island, Mudhdhoo Island, in Baa Atoll, which is the Maldives’ first and only UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. It’s also just a short 35-minute seaplane journey from Malé International airport. The island’s natural beauty comes from the
white sandy beaches, lush vegetation, turquoise lagoon and 360-degree house reef, with its three underwater caves full of marine life. The resort’s 94 villas combine Thai
furnishings with a twist to reflect the Dusit Thani heritage and local Maldivian culture. Guests can take a dip in one of the Maldives’
largest infinity pools, explore the house reef, and take a worldwide culinary journey at the restaurants and bars. New this year, there’s even the opportunity to indulge in a floating breakfast, in one of the hotel’s pools. Alternatively, retreat to the award-winning Devarana Spa, with elevated treatment rooms among the coconut trees. Other facilities include a fitness centre, island jogging trail, children’s club with indoor and
outdoor play areas, yoga pavilion with resident yogi, two floodlit tennis courts, bicycles for guests, activity centre with conservation programmes, outdoor private cinema, cooking classes, wine tasting with a resident sommelier, behind-the-scenes tours and butler service for each villa. Guided nature walks show guests the diversity
of the natural and indigenous flora and fauna — including Banyan trees — around the island, plus fruits and vegetables that are used in some of the dishes prepared by the expert chefs. Snorkellers and divers can see hundreds of
species of fish, and underwater marine and plant life in the house reef alone, plus different varieties of corals. Octopus, turtles and eagle rays are also often spotted; marine presentations introduce guests to the underwater life here. The dive centre offers a variety of watersports
and activities, along with fishing trips, dolphin- watching cruises and visits to nearby Hanifaru Bay from May to November to see and swim with the manta rays at the cleaning station.
Don’t miss Snorkelling and diving in the 360-degree house reef for the chance to see the vibrant marine life up close
