PARTNER CONTENT FOR EDEN ISLAND

Eden Island SEYCHELLES

The beautiful island archipelago of the Seychelles is made up of 115 islands and is blessed with deep turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and exotic flora and fauna. Situated just off the coast of the main island of Mahé, Eden Island has fast become the Seychelles’ ultimate destination

Eden Island has, since its inception, provided a blueprint for luxury living in the Seychelles and the Indian Ocean Islands. The island’s Creole-inspired design, which is

aided by the incredible natural attributes of its beautiful location, has been carefully developed to produce a beautiful backdrop against which to enjoy the relaxed pace and unique aspects of an island lifestyle. Eden Island offers breathtaking views of

the huge granite mountains of Mahé as well as sweeping ocean views towards Sainte Anne Marine National Park.

DISCOVER EDEN ISLAND The award-winning residential estate is home to a vast, 100-acre stretch of prime residential land interweaved by 38 acres of private waterways. Throw in a 138-acre marina dotted with superyachts, and the result is the perfect spot for an array of upmarket homes to buy or rent.

The island offers the best of luxury island

living combined with convenience and privacy making it the perfect getaway for honeymoon couples, as well as family holidaymakers. Eden Island Luxury Accommodation offers these properties for long-term rentals or self-catering holiday breaks. Guests can choose from more than 50 excellent apartments, private duplex maisons, or spacious ocean-view villas with private swimming pools. In addition, Eden Island has four secluded

beaches suitable for swimming, kayaking and snorkelling, a number of swimming pools, a tennis court, a fully-equipped gm and a running trail along the coastline. Residents can meet in the clubhouse, and younger ones can enjoy the various children’s play areas.

EXPLORE THE ARCHIPELAGO Every home here has its own mooring and it’s the perfect base for island-hopping and exploring. Must-try boat trips include Bird

Island, home to the red fody and white-crowned sooty tern; Curieuse Island, the stomping ground of around 500 Aldabra giant tortoises; and Fregate Island, with the beautiful Anse Victorin beach. Some of the rarest species of birds can be

found in the Seychelles, including the bare- legged scops owl or syer. This specific owl is so rare it was once thought to have become extinct, but was rediscovered as recently as 1959. Keen birdwatchers who have plenty of patience can find it at the Morne Seychellois National Park on Mahé Island.

BURIED TREASURE Many, many years ago, the Seychelles was known as the land of pirates. Pirate hotspots in the region included Anse Forbans (Pirate’s Cove) on Mahé Island and Côte d’Or on Praslin. The pirates used the islands as a hideout and it’s believed that treasure worth more than $160,000 was hidden by legendary pirate

Olivier Levasseur — nicknamed La Buse (The Buzzard) or La Bouche (The Mouth) — at the time. It hasn’t been discovered yet — although many have tried to find it over the years. Rumour has it that Moyenne Island, situated

in the Sainte Anne Marine National Park, contains buried treasure too, but no one dares to approach it because they think the island is haunted by a spirit that is guarding it.

SO MUCH TO SEE AND DO Back on Eden Island, guests can visit a choice of restaurants and bars, and unwind against a stunning mountain backdrop. Eden Plaza shopping centre houses a mix of designer boutiques, supermarkets and restaurants. A spa is available for facials, massages

and body treatments — or for more pulse- quickening endeavours, residents can charter a boat or try an array of watersports, from windsurfing and kayaking to snorkelling and diving. Seychelles is also well-known as a diver’s paradise; fish life is prolific thanks to

the strict conservation rules and the isolated position of the archipelago. The waters are also full of beautiful rocks

which are often covered in soft corals and sponges. Among the sealife to look out for are colourful angelfish, butterflyfish, longspine squirrelfish and blotcheye soldierfish. If you’re in the Seychelles in August or

between October and January, keep your eyes peeled and you might just see a massive whale shark swimming off shore.

BUY A DREAM HOME ON EDEN ISLAND Every home on Eden Island is sold as a freehold property, giving owners the option to apply for Seychelles residency, plus the chance to place their home in the Eden Island Luxury Accommodation portfolio. With more than 500 homes sold to date, only

a handful are still on the market. For anyone seeking a slice of island life, a memorable holiday or an investment opportunity, Eden Island ticks all the boxes.

Don’t miss Snorkelling, a beach barbecue and the chance to see giant tortoises on Moyenne Island in Sainte Anne Marine National Park
