Stoke Park Country Club, Spa & Hotel UNITED KINGDOM
Opened in 1908 as the UK’s first country club, Stoke Park Country Club, Spa & Hotel is set in 300 acres of parkland, dotted with lakes, gardens and historic monuments. A star of the silver screen, Stoke Park has featured in a number of famous films, including Bridget Jones’s Diary and Goldfinger — the latter’s golfing scene was shot on the lush greens that wrap around the hotel. Guests can bed down in one of 49 rooms
and suites — from cosy, oak-panelled options furnished with fine art and antiques in the Georgian mansion house, to more contemporary styles in the Pavilion. The hotel’s three restaurants, bars and lounges include the three AA Rosette-winning Humphry’s, headed up by award-winning chef Chris Wheeler. On the menu are classic British dishes with a modern twist. Elsewhere, brasserie San Marco serves classic Italian fare, while a pianist serenades guests taking afternoon tea in The Orangery. To counteract any over-indulgence, there’s
a newly refurbished gm; alternatively, fitness instructors lead a range of classes, from HIIT
to hot yoga and spinning. Golfers can work on their handicap on the recently refurbished 27-hole championship golf course or at the all- weather range, USGA spec short game area and indoor swing studio, or take a class in the David Leadbetter Golf Academy. There are also 13 multi-surface tennis courts,
including four floodlit clay, three indoor and six Wimbledon-spec grass options, plus two newly installed padel courts. Every year, The Boodles event allows fans to see top stars play — the event regularly welcomes the likes of Novak Djokovic, Juan Martin del Potro and Rafael Nadal. The award-winning spa features a Scandinavian
sauna, outdoor hot tub, indoor heated pool and private atrium with a tropical aquarium. There’s also a relaxation room, Italian marble steam rooms and a nail bar, plus an array of luxury treatments, from Thalgo facials, Aromatherapy Associates massages to a spa ritual with full-body exfoliation, ayurvedic massage and a body wrap. Corporate events can also be centred on golf, tennis, the spa, or other team-bonding activities.
Don’t miss The new spa garden, complete with outdoor Scandinavian sauna and hot tub overlooking the beautiful grounds
