PAID CONTENT FOR AYUSH LONGEVITY — CEYLON AYURVEDA & WELLNESS

Ayush Longevity – Ceylon Ayurveda & Wellness NUGEGODA, SRI LANKA

Located on Chapel Road in Nugegoda, just outside Colombo, AYUSH Longevity is a specialist institute dedicated to the preservation and teaching of Ceylon ayurveda. Founded in 2015, it was established with a clear purpose: to formalise Sri Lanka’s Indigenous healing knowledge within a structured educational framework grounded in traditional principles. Distinct from a conventional retreat centre,

AYUSH Longevity functions primarily as an academy. Courses span ayurveda massage level 1 and 2 along with Panchakarma, ayurveda beauty therapy, ayurveda authentic foods and nutrition, ayurveda herbalism, therapeutic yoga and meditation, yoga for health and beauty, ayurveda wellness and yoga immersion. Teaching is led by qualified ayurveda and

Indigenous doctors, including founder Dr Sara. Central to the curriculum is a detailed exploration of the three doshas — vata, pitta and kapha — alongside the five elements and six tastes, interpreted through a distinctly Sri Lankan lens. Emphasis is placed on diagnostic understanding,

treatment logic and hands-on competency, ensuring students graduate with both conceptual clarity and technical skill. The institute holds certification from Sri Lanka’s

Tertiary & Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) and is among a limited number of centres approved by the Department of Ayurveda. In 2023, it received a Gold Award from the Ministry of Health as Best Indigenous Education Institute, recognising its academic standards and contribution to safeguarding traditional knowledge. Partnerships in India and Thailand further broaden study opportunities through exchange programmes. A typical day begins at 9.30am, with theory

sessions covering classical ayurvedic literature texts and contemporary applications. From 11.30am the session shifts focus to practical skill development. Lunch follows ayurvedic nutritional principles, featuring rice and curry with spices designed to support digestion and balance. Evenings are free to explore the local neighbourhood, stopping at local eateries and wandering Nugegoda’s vibrant markets, while Sri Lanka’s coastline is only 20 minutes away.
