PAID CONTENT FOR FINCA NARANJAS

Finca Naranjas TENERIFE, SPAIN

Set in the south of Tenerife, Finca Naranjas is an oasis where architecture blends harmoniously with nature. Volcanic stone, shaded gardens and warm Atlantic light bring calm to the senses — it’s a place where time slows and you can truly rest. Built over more than five decades by architects

Denis Devaris and Barbara Manteuffel, the finca was conceived as a living environment shaped by its surroundings. In a desert landscape formed by lava, cacti and rock formations, they built a haven from organic materials including stone, wood and clay tiles, creating casitas (small houses) that blend with their environment. Subtle influences from the island echo throughout, from the contours of the land to mountain silhouettes mirrored in the buildings. Today, Finca Naranjas is under the stewardship

of their daughter, Soujâtâ Devaris, who’s preserved their original vision while restoring the finca into the retreat space it is today. Antique doors, artisanal craftsmanship and carefully collected artefacts add warmth and character that reveal themselves gradually. Accommodation comprises 24 unique casitas of varying sizes, along with

several larger family villas, all opening onto private terraces designed for al fresco living and dining. Mountains and landscaped gardens shaded by palm and eucalyptus trees are visible from every window — all accompanied by tropical birdsong. At the heart of the finca lies the yoga hall, its roof

shaped like a ship’s prow. Here, guests can enjoy week-long retreats with ashtanga teachers from around the world. A white-sand-finish, contoured swimming pool and cascade draw guests towards the sundeck, where flowing water enhances the peaceful atmosphere. Nutritional programmes, private fitness sessions and treatments including Pilates, qigong, sound baths, reflexology and massage can all be arranged. Plant-based meals or Spanish cuisine can be

prepared on request, using organic, seasonal ingredients. Beyond the finca, Tenerife offers a lively food scene, including Michelin-starred restaurants. Excursions to Mount Teide and Teide National Park can be arranged, as well as visits to Loro Parque. Beaches, hiking trails, cycling routes, whale- watching and watersports are all within easy reach.

DON’T MISS Admire architecture shaped by the volcanic island, experienced through week-long restorative retreats
