In your local supermarket, find three Fairtrade products and write down the price. Also write down the price of three non-Fairtrade versions of the same products.
1. Does the price difference surprise you? 2. Did you think Fairtrade would cost more or less?
3. Do you think people who have to be careful with their income should buy Fairtrade products? Suggest ways that they could manage the expense.
4. Now look at the countries of origin on the product packaging. Choose one and research online: (a) whether there is a minimum wage in that country; and (b) three facts about workers in that industry there.
