As part of studying CSPE, you are required to complete a minimum of three Citizenship Actions, one for each strand of the course. You can carry out Citizenship Actions in a group or individually.
Before the end of the course, you will create a Citizenship Action Record based on one* of these. This will be your Classroom-Based Assessment (CBA) for CSPE.
*It should be noted that although you may complete one or more Citizenship Actions in First Year of Junior Cycle, only Citizenship Actions carried out in Second or Third Year can be used for your Citizenship Action Record.
Your Citizenship Action Record will form part of your assessment for CSPE and be reported on in your Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement.
For more information about the Citizenship Action Record, see chapter 34.
Your Citizenship Action on human rights should be inspired by what you have learned in the Rights and Responsibilities strand of the course.
The NCCA Specification for CSPE suggests the following possible Citizenship Actions on human rights, although you are also free to come up with your own.
