• Political: The political system of a country is how we organise power and decision-making. In Ireland, this means voting for political parties or individuals, who then represent us and make decisions. Not all countries allow ordinary citizens to have a say in power or decision-making. In CSPE, you will learn how our system works and what role you can play in changing things through politics.
So, why learn about the civic, social and political world?
• To give yourself the tools to become an active citizen who can change things for the better in your community, your country and your world.
• To become aware of how connected our society is and how the decisions we make affect others, and vice versa.
• To understand how the political system works, so that your voice can be heard on the issues that matter to you.
