Development is the word we use for the changes that occur over time in our communities, our country, our world – and even ourselves. We can look at development from various angles:
• Personal development: taking the time and space to grow as people, explore our abilities and gain experience and skills. Positive changes in our personal development make it easier for us to have a positive influence on our communities, our country and our world.
• Social development: making sure we change our laws and systems of government in ways that support human rights, equality and everyone’s voice being heard.
• Economic development: making sure there are enough jobs, so that everyone has a home and enough money for a decent quality of life.
