Rules and responsibilities affect every area of a person’s life. As the citizen of a country, you must follow certain laws (rules), and you have responsibilities with regard to the common good of the community you live in. Sometimes these laws are referred to as ‘civic duties’, while actions that you should perform but which are not obligatory, are known as ‘civic responsibilities’.

Look at the list of activities. In your country, is each of them a civic duty or a civic responsibility? Does this apply to everyone, or are there differences, for example, between men and women, or children and adults?
