I had always wanted to start my own business. But before giving up my full-time job, I thought carefully


about the advantages and possible disadvantages. Giving up a good job was risky, of course. However, my business plan was a good one, I thought, and I had saved up some money to help me get started. If I took the risk, I could end up with a money-making business and the life that I wanted.

However, I calculated that I would need more money than I had saved. At first, the idea of asking


my bank for a loan seemed promising, but the bank had very strict rules when lending and my application was turned down.


My parents encouraged me to do what I wanted and offered to help financially, but I decided it would


be unfair to take a risk with their money. If things went badly, I might not be able to repay them, and the consequences for them could be serious.
