THE CHEVAL RESIDENCES POLO CHALLENGE 2016
Not to miss the much enjoyed and successful Cheval Residences Polo Challenge, guests gathered yet again for another slightly overcast Sunday invited for Luncheon and an afternoon’s polo.
A Club American Tournament (three teams partaking) was to kick off the day between Hugs and Co, Dynamite and Ventura Pauly, taking place as the Cheval guests were arriving.
The guests were ushered onto the private Ritz Deck to partake of a delicious lunch prior to the main Polo Match between their two teams, Cheval Noir and Cheval Blanc. Perhaps the guests chose to favour one team over another but either way Cheval would win the day.
Once again the ball was thrown in by Mohammed Shareef Al Marzooqi, the Managing Director of Cheval Group and the match began.
First blood was by Jimmy Wood scoring the only goal of the first chukka to Cheval Noir; the second chukka produced two goals, the first of which was by Will Healy, second by Christopher Caesar of Cheval Blanc. Half time saw the players go off the field for another pony change and back they came for the third chukka with Juan Cruz Araya scoring a penalty goal, followed by Ali Paterson scoring the fifth goal of play making it 3-2 goals for Cheval Blanc.
Now came the Fourth and last chukka with all to play for. Cheval Noir had to fight back and Charlie Wood scored another penalty goal bringing the score back evenly to 3-3. Lorenzo Larumbe was now all fired up and was having none of if it and scored two further goals with Cheval Blanc running out the winners 5-3.
