The Billy Walsh is the final tournament of the season and one of Ham’s most popular events. Players form 3 goal teams and the competition always attracts a pleasant mixture of home and away teams.

After seven days of fantastic games in the league stage it was E3 Light and Jacaranda who were placed in the final both on unbeaten records for the tournament. Both teams featured 5 goal handicap players who had been instrumental to their success. Ryan Pemble came in to the final after some strong score lines in all of the league matches. Jacaranda had started with a draw in their first match but went on to win convincingly in Saturday's league game to book a place in the final.

In what was expected to be an even game E3 Light surprised both Jacaranda and the spectators with what was probably the most dominant chukka played all season at Ham by any team. Pemble mastered his team to a 6-1 lead by the close of the first chukka. E3 Light's display was not just down to Pemble, both patrons Fleming Anderson and Heiko Voelker were playing well off their handicaps (Anderson going up in handicap for the 2017 season). rising star Charlie Townsend, playing exceptionally well off of a 0 goal handicap. Townsend put in a hard graft marking players out of the game to make Pemble's time on the field a lot easier. Jacaranda managed to come into the game more in the second chukka but the half time score line was still a resounding 10-2 lead to E3 light.

Jacaranda 5 goaler Vieri Antinori came to life in the second half slowly bringing the purple team's goal tally higher. Managing to keep Pemble at bay, Jacaranda took the score line further forward. By the final bell though it was E3 Light still holding their strong lead from the first two chukkas at 10-6 to take the trophy. The Best Playing Pony award was presented by Blackdown Equine Clinic.

The subsidiary final featured Avengers against Hugs & Co. Both teams had come close to reaching the final with unfortunate losses. The Avengers featured a last minute substitution in the form of Lorenzo Larumbe taking the place of Ali Paterson who could not make the game. Avengers took the lead in the opening stages and kept themselves ahead throughout the game with some great work from Lorenzo Larumbe. In the end they were victorious by half a goal.
