HAM HOUSE TROPHY 2 GOAL
The competitive season kicks off each year with Ham House Tournament a popular two goal competition. Interestingly all of the entries were from teams based at Ham, a good sign the club can self-sustain. The semifinals on Saturday saw both Rebecca Drake's Flying Foxes and Martin Hay's Quadriga come from behind to make it to the final.
In the final it was Quadriga marshalled by Juan Cruz Araya-Martelli who got out of the gate fastest opening a lead. In the second chukka they continued to play well scoring again before Charlie Wood lifted his team and got a couple of goals back along with teammate Omar Mangalji. Despite the momentary lapse in concentration Quadriga took control in the second half, maintaining their lead to run out the winners of Ham’s first tournament of the season.
In the Subsidiary Final La Primavera, mounted almost exclusively on Primavera horses, were able to establish a strong lead over Braemar Farms. Braemar Farms' Lorenzo Larumbe had some great solo efforts to bring his team back into contention. With the scores almost level there was a final push from Braemar Farms headed by Patrick Teroerde in the closing minutes of the game. Despite possession and an attacking position the final bell denied Breamar the score and La Primavera were victorious.
