INSIGHT ONES TO WATCH SILVERBACK GAMING
ticket: the more games we release, the more likely we are to roll out a true blockbuster hit. So it's really a question of finding the right balance between quality and quantity.
Design-wise, what sets your games apart?
Raphael DiGuisto Founder Silverback Gaming
Why was Silverback Gaming established?
Silverback Gaming was established in 2019 by myself and Ivaylo Karmazov and having sold our first studio, Cayetano Gaming, to Paddy Power eight years earlier. Cayetano had already had a very successful spin off, and with all the consolidation that we were seeing across the industry, we thought the sector was ripe for more competitive studios to enter the space. At the time it felt like sitting on a recipe for success, like we had a big red button and the temptation to press it just became too big not to. Red button pressed, Silverback Gaming launched just before the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
What differentiates Silverback Gaming?
We don't see one particular thing that differentiates us from other studios, it's more a question of ticking all the right boxes when it comes to developing a game to ensure each title hits the mark with players. Our games set the bar for quality across all key areas and our recipe for success is based on keeping the player in a familiar environment, whether it be in terms of themes, mechanics or mathematics. We do this on a very lean budget, and we sprinkle a little bit of innovation to give our games a touch of magic and that wow factor that ensures they stand out in casino lobbies and keep our players immersed and entertained at all times.
For us, keeping track of costs is extremely important as we see every game as a lottery

Te short answer is that we focus on all aspects of the game and go to great lengths to ensure that each area is the absolute best that it can be. We have some extremely innovative trademarked mechanics that we have developed specifically for the US, a market where we will be doubling down our efforts moving forwards. Players in US states should look out for our soon-to-be-released Clockways mechanic which will debut in Mega Fishing.
Te way it works is that the outer symbols rotate clockwise, changing the symbol positions to create more, bigger wins in a way that keeps players on the edge of their seats. But in terms of design, we have both a 3D and a 2D approach to our games. Tese approaches have their pros and cons in terms of how good they look and how cost-effective they are, so again we aim to strike a balance between the two.
Do you have a standout title?
So far, "Wilds of the West" has proven to be one of our best-performing games, but we’re still working hard at creating that one game that catapults Silverback into the realm of being a tier-one developer. Every game has performed better than the previous one, and as we start releasing more and more games in the US, we have high hopes that our game performance will keep beating our own records, particularly once we release our jackpot game which we believe will take the US by storm.
What's the vision for Silverback Gaming?
In the short term, we intend to release 20 games this year in the US and also have our jackpot server going live in H1 followed by our bonus engine in H2. Longer term we intend to grow the team as well as increase the production rate which will ensure our portfolio hits 50 games live by the end of 2024.
