INSIGHT IAGA SUMMIT BOSTON - JUNE 27-29, 2022

delegates from the four corners of the world who actively participate in interactive discussions about a wide range of relevant issues.

Reflecting the constant evolution of global gaming, this year’s three-day agenda includes a wide range of topics that highlight just some of the many changes taking place in our industry, and is the result of the hard work of our diligent Summit Conference Planning Committee. Te agenda begins with a comprehensive discussion on the rapid growth of online sports betting in North America and the challenges and opportunities this expansion has created, followed by a candid look at the dramatic increase in advertising that has resulted.

Some of the other panels our delegates will enjoy include a lively discussion on politics, community and culture when enforcement and compliance collide with industry perception and public confidence, a roundtable discussion on critical issues North American regulators are facing, a two-part look at how the evolving gambling M&A landscape is changing thanks to creative transactions like REITs and SPACs and the regulatory challenges that have arisen as a result, to whether the pandemic has made international collaboration among regulators a more attainable goal.

Our agenda also addresses relevant and timely issues like what’s happening in other gaming markets around the world, the impact data privacy and cyber security have on regulated gaming, the growing interest in providing an omnichannel gaming experience, and a call for industry-wide alignment on responsible gaming.

Tis year’s Summit agenda also includes an exceptional line-up of keynote speakers, beginning on June 27 with a welcome address from Massachusetts’ 72nd Governor Charlie Baker. Our delegates will also learn more about how cloud computing has changed heavily regulated industries for the better from Dan Carpenter, the General Manager of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Games segment. Drawing on AWS’ extensive experience as the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform that supports millions of customers globally including key players in financial services, health care, national defense and other government agencies, Dan will explore how these industries leveraged cloud-based services and technologies to be more agile and adaptive to a rapidly changing tech-driven world.

Finally, on Wednesday morning New Jersey Casino Control Commission Chairman James T. Plousis will explore how the strictly regulated gaming industry can provide a path forward as a partner in the critical work of addressing the substance abuse epidemic. Sharing insight into how New Jersey’s Recovery Court provides life- altering career opportunities to non-violent former offenders by providing them with the ability to obtain a casino employee gaming licenc e in one of the most tightly regulated gaming jurisdictions, Plousis will share his

thoughts on how the gaming industry can work with similar organisations elsewhere to give deserving people a second chance.

Of course, this year’s International Gaming Summit’s comprehensive programme is accentuated by exceptional networking events, beginning Sunday evening with a “Welcome to New England” opening reception featuring regional culinary delights including a battle of the region’s differing Lobster Roll styles, a traditional Clam Bake and Mike’s Pastry cannoli filling station. Monday night we’ll hold our annual President’s Reception and Dinner with a baseball-focused evening at Fenway Park, complete with private tours, great food and plenty of places to watch the Sox play the Blue Jays in Toronto.

Wednesday evening, we’ll toast the conclusion of another successful Summit with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, one of the finest private art collections in North America and the site of the world’s largest art heist to date. Our evening at ISGM will include self-guided tours of the galleries where empty frames that used to hold masterpieces by Rembrandt, Vermeer and Degas still hang and where docents will provide insight into the Museum’s exceptional art collection and the priceless items that are still missing. With so many informative and entertaining events planned for our Summit this year, I’m really looking forward to joining our IAGA Officers, Trustees and Counselors in welcoming our delegates to Boston!
