In a first for New Jersey the state Division of Gaming Enforcement gave approval for New Jersey’s casinos and racetracks to accept bets on the League of Legends World Championship finals held in Paris.


International Game Technology (IGT) has announced that its PlaySports technology is now powering retail sports betting at Te Mill Casino in North Bend, Oregon. Patrons of Te Coquille Indian Tribe-owned casino can now place a range of sports wagers over the counter or via the casino's IGT PlaySports kiosks.


"Enabling Te Mill Casino in Oregon to offer world- class sports betting experiences is another important milestone in the expansion of IGT's position in the U.S. sports betting market," said Enrico Drago, IGT PlayDigital Senior Vice President.


“Te solution's market-readiness and proven capacity to seamlessly process high volumes of bets across devices and channels continues to differentiate IGT PlaySports in the market and has helped fuel its expansion into 11 U.S. states."


IGT PlaySports is currently powering sports betting in 11 U.S. states including Oregon, Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa, New York, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, West Virginia, Rhode Island, New Jersey and Nevada.


Kindred Group’s (previously Unibet group) flagship sports betting brand Unibet has become an Authorized Sports Betting Operator of the National Basketball Association (NBA).As a part of the agreement, throughout the NBA season Unibet will have access to official NBA betting data and league marks across its online and mobile platforms in the United States.

Tis will add further customer value to an already first-class betting experience thanks to official NBA betting data and league marks across our mobile and retail platforms. In another NBA Deal FOX Bet and the Philadelphia 76ers have announced an agreement for the first deal


between an NBA team and a mobile sports book.


FOX Bet, the sports betting brand between FOX Sports and Te Stars Group, is already an Authorized Gaming Operator of the NBA. Te new agreement will build awareness of its brand and app via the 76ers traditional, digital and social media assets, custom home game promotions, exposure on courtside and LED signage, and more.


Blitzer Sports & Entertainment owns and operates the Philadelphia 76ers and the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League as well as other properties in the sports and entertainment industries.

Metric Gaming has entered a strategic partnership with Sports IQ. B2B sports betting services provider Metric Gaming, has partnered with Sports IQ, a best- in-class oddsmaker, to build and launch a full suite of next generation US sports betting products.


Te partnership with Sports IQ will allow Metric Gaming to provide a market leading one stop service for NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL products, as well as the college variants. Operators can consume the service as a simple price feed or a fully managed turnkey service.

FanDuel Sportsbook PlaySugarHouse and FoxBet all accepted bets on the tournament. However Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa announced that it had accepted the first legal esports wager in the state. Tis was another first for the casino.


In June 2018 the Borgata was also the first Atlantic City casino to accept a legal sports wager under new sports betting regulations in New Jersey.

Te League of Legends World Championship is the annual professional League of Legends tournament hosted by Riot Games representing the culmination of each season. Teams compete for the champion title, the 70-pound Summoner’s Cup, and a US $1 million championship prize. Available bets include pre-match overall winner, adjusted overall winner (in between rounds), and individual round winners.


Esports has grown in popularity over recent years and estimates from market analyst group Newzoo project that the global esports market could exceed $1.6 billion by 2021.


Crucially legislation in some states already includes esports while lawmakers in other states are looking at legalising it at some point in the future.
