conservative B2C partner likely means less revenue or profit being generated due to higher costs on the operational side, or that a more “risk tolerant” B2C partner is likely to generate more revenue or profit, but with a higher risk.”

Looking ahead, Soft2Bet has placed on record its bold ambitions for the US market, initially focusing on New Jersey, aligning with its goal to expand in North America’s iGaming sector.

“You can easily manipulate AI if you train it in a specific manner. I think further regulation is something that will need to be considered - not just in gaming but across industries. Tere are discussions of an intention to create regulations for watermarks to label content being created by AI. Content being created today using AI-tools is so advanced that sometimes you cannot tell whether this content is real or AI-generated,

We give advice to the commercial teams that extends beyond these regulatory aspects. For instance, we advise on whether a price point

licence relative to Europe, Eran says that regulatory variations are not unique to the U.S.; each country presents its own regulatory landscape.

“Spanish regulation differs from the Swedish, the Danish, the German, the Netherlands. In the US you would have perhaps expected it to be more harmonised with federal regulation or similar cross-state regulations, but it’s not always the case. Terefore, our US approach is not overly different from how we deal with any other market as regulations are different everywhere.”

A key aspect is ensuring that compliance measures are cost-effective, as excessive resource allocation can impact profit margins.

“What we need to ensure is that, firstly, we are compliant, and secondly that it makes sense from a business perspective. At Soft2Bet, we are very diligent on cost-effectiveness. If we need to allocate X compliance people specifically for the US on a budget of Y, this will naturally reduce margin. We are always careful and attentive to these considerations.”

Eran acknowledges AI’s growing presence in the legal field despite being a late bloomer himself when it comes to his personal usage of AI tools. Soft2Bet's legal team has begun implementing AI tools to catalogue legal and contract libraries and assist with drafting standard clauses. However, he cautions that while AI can enhance efficiency, human oversight remains essential to ensure accuracy and prevent errors, as AI-generated content can sometimes be misleading.

“I just read an interesting article about a lawyer assigned with a court case who used ChatGPT to write his entire case. He submitted it to the court - without verifying its contents – including references to previous court cases and rulings. Te judge was surprised about these court cases as he never encountered them in the past - he looked for these cases and found out they never existed! All made up by the AI tool.

“I think you can use AI tools as a day-to-day working tool when you're dealing with AML checks, KYC checks and other operational aspects of the business. But the conclusion should always be of the human mind. I think we are only seeing the beginning of the AI revolution. In the next few years, it will become a stronger and more sophisticated tool, but we are not there yet when it comes to critical decision making, implementing nuanced judgment and applying human expertise.
