At ICE Barcelona Light & Wonder displayed 34 distinct game families across five cabinets. What were the highlights for visitors?
At Light & Wonder we are very fortunate that we have so many amazing game studios creating so many great game families to offer our customers. Whether it’s games that are long established favourites like HUFF N’ PUFF, or a newer title such as VooDoo Jackpot, we know we have a game for all players. We have spent our time developing games both in land-based and in online - bringing them together to create the best of both worlds.
As expected, Squid Game has been a huge success across casinos in Europe. What can you tell us about some of the more spectacular launches where dozens of Pink Guards have filled the gaming floors of some of the most prestigious casinos in Europe, such as Casino de Monte Carlo?
Squid Game is an example of how to take a really strong brand into the casino space. Our biggest launch at Casino de Monte Carlo featured dancers, drummers and people dressed in costumes from the game. It was a spectacular event and our customers thoroughly enjoyed it.
At ICE, Light & Wonder is shining a spotlight on its system agnostic solution, L&W ENGAGE and Engage AI. What can you tell us about these solutions?
Casino Management Systems are obviously a very large and long-term investment for our customers. At Light & Wonder we want our customers to be able to upgrade their players’ experience without having to replace their entire system. Terefore, a customer can take ENGAGE, including Engage AI, as an addition to their existing system with all of the added benefits, such as the ability to improve marketing, improve responsible gambling and player protections, and the ability to manage loyalty across multiple channels.
How would you sum up the ICE exhibition’s relocation to Barcelona?
We have found this year’s ICE to be a very different experience to London; it has a whole new energy, there’s lots of unknowns and lots of great new surprises as well. We’ve been thoroughly supported by customers who visited the stand.
Finally, what is the message from Light & Wonder’s stand for what 2025 holds?
