Te company has entered into agreements to purchase the long-term lease of the site currently home to the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Tese transactions, which still require certain approvals, would grant the company control of up to 80 acres in Nassau County, New York.

A new mobile sports betting bill, the fifth such bill to be presented to the Mississippi legislature, has been read in the State House. Sports betting is legal in Mississippi, with retail sports betting going live in the state in 2018, and is currently offered by 30 brick-and-mortar sport books in operation with casino locations.
Mobile wagers are permitted, but punters can only place online bets while located on- property within a casino. Te state has sought to amend the law to allow legislation to legalise state-wide mobile betting, but four proposed bills have all failed to make it past the voting stage, as casinos in the state stood in opposition to the measure.
Opposition to the newly proposed bill is expected to have weakened after sports betting handle in the state fell in 2022.
great entertainment and hospitality developments,” said Robert G. Goldstein, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer.
Te integrated resort components of a Long Island development would include outdoor community spaces, four and five-star hotel rooms and a world-class live performance venue honouring the long legacy of live music at the Nassau Coliseum. Te resort property would also feature celebrity chef restaurants, experiential events and venues and flexible meeting and convention space, including ballrooms. Other amenities would include high- quality casino gaming, which is planned to represent less than ten per cent of the project’s total square footage, a luxurious day spa, swimming pool and health club.
“Our announcement today is only the first part of this journey. Our ability to put forward a compelling and competitive proposal will only succeed if we engage with the Long Island community and, in collaboration, develop a proposal that reflects the input of all those involved,” added Goldstein.
