Furthermore, they must ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and accountability of data throughout its lifecycle. Documentation proving the legality of capital sources is
essential for operations, underscoring the need for transparency in financial backing. In addition, entities must comply with regulations aimed at preventing money laundering and terrorism financing to obtain the necessary permits for accepting bets.

SPORTS BETTING OPERATORS Fortuna Fortuna Entertainment Group, the largest betting and gaming provider in Central and Eastern Europe, originated as a Czech company and expanded through new branches and acquisitions in Slovakia, Poland, Croatia, and Romania. In 2005, Penta In- vestments, one of Slovakia's largest domestic investment groups, joined Fortuna, consolidating the company and driving its in- ternational expansion. Tis expansion reached a peak in 2017 with the acquisition of several companies, including parts of the Hattrick Sports Group, which operates extensively in Romania and Croatia. Te company launched in Poland in 2000. In March 2024, Reuters reported that Penta was considering
a potential sale of Fortuna Entertainment Group, aiming to further accelerate Fortuna’s growth with a new co-investor. Possible buyers might include major European gambling operators and private investment firms within the betting sector. In 2022, Fortuna's total revenues amounted to €540m, contributing to Penta’s overall group revenues of €7.6bn.
