LISLE, IL — Molex has introduced an accelerometer-based road-noise canceling (RNC) sensor, the first product in a family of active noise canceling (ANC) sensors. These sensors will play a critical role in combating unwanted road, wind and HVAC car noise, while reducing low-frequency sounds that may increase driver fatigue. MATE and FREEDOM ULTI- MATE SCAN, the new arms are available with measurement vol- umes from 8.2 to 14.8 ft (2.5 to 4.5m), according to model. Each complements the comparable size of existing FREEDOM CLASSIC and higher accuracy FREEDOM SELECT products with six axes designed for touch probing, as well as the seven-axis SCAN equivalents for multisensor met - ro logy including laser scanning. and microphone sensors use Analog Devices’ Automotive Audio Bus® (A2B) technology to ensure delivery of high-fidelity audio, while significantly reducing cabling complexity, costs and weight. By pairing its sensors with the A2B network, Molex transmits noise sig- nals to the processing unit in less than 2 ms. The sensors include integral connectors and are daisy chained to simplify integration, while providing up to a 30 percent reduction in cable weight. Derived from Molex’s Mini50 Connector family, these connectors offer up to 50 percent space savings over traditional USCAR 0.64 connectors.
