Page 33 SEC Develops Large-Scale X-Ray System
PORTER RANCH, CA — X-ray inspection specialist SEC has ex- panded its capabilities from sell- ing generators and applied its technology to develop automatic inspection for large structures. The new LINASEC™ container inspection solution is being im- plemented at SEC’s cargo inspec- tion facility in Gwanyang Port, South Korea. The electronic lin- ear accelerator tube design is being used in Korea for the first time.
MV-class radiation genera-
tors allow nondestructive inspec- tion of automobiles, ships, aero engines, missiles, rockets, and many containers at once. X-rays are used throughout the produc- tion site for quick and accurate quality inspection. For nonde- structive testing, the radioactive materials and radiation genera- tors are used to generate X-rays. For some time now, radia-
tion generators have been ap- plied to control radiation safely, depending on the presence or ab-
Absolute EMS Adds Large Format Wave Soldering
SANTA CLARA, CA — Absolute EMS has invested in a large-for- mat JAGUAR N450 high-end lead and lead-free wave solder- ing system. The JAGUAR N450 offers closed-loop control with an inverter control system to man- age stability and accuracy of speed. Independent temperature control in four preheating zones with top and bottom heating ele- ments ensures heat efficiency. The double-wave furnace
can accommodate two boards si- multaneously and adapts to var- ious sizes. The built-in nitrogen system ensures smooth and shiny solder joints that adhere to IPC standards. In addition, the

sence of a power source. In radi- ation-based nondestructive test- ing, the limit of the object that
can be inspected is determined according to the energy. Accelerators are now in use
in a wide range of fields, from the inspection of large structures such as national defense, en- gines, ships, and power plant components, to security fields such as cargo inspection, and food and medical fields related to sterilization. SEC has a variety of solutions for nondestructive testing that can be customized
