Smart Sonic Relocates to Cleveland
Cleveland, OH — Following the transfer in ownership of Smart Sonic and SMT Detergent in December 2016, the new owners have moved the company from Canoga Park, Cal- ifornia to Cleveland, Ohio. While the office and manufacturing facility re- located to Cleveland, the 440-R-SMT detergent will continue to ship from Santa Fe Springs, California. The current owners have other business- es in the Cleveland area, so it made sense to move Smart Sonic to the ex- isting location in Cleveland.
Since the company relocated,
Smart Sonic continues to thrive. Its focus remains the same — providing quality products and services at rea- sonable prices. The company contin- ues to be a leading manufacturer of effective stencil and pallet cleaning equipment, as well as its 440-R VOC- free detergent. In response to customer re-
quests/inquiries to reduce equipment lead time, production staff began manufacturing a couple stencil/pallet cleaners for stock. Smart Sonic cur-
rently has the Model 529 and the Model 6000 in process. These units will include the most commonly pur- chased options for each model. Since these are currently in production, the lead time dropped from six to eight weeks for the 529 and eight to ten weeks for the 6000, down to about
two weeks for each. Contact: Smart Sonic Corp., 837

HARTING Expands E-Mobility Infrastructure
Elgin, IL — The Geneva Interna- tional Motor show saw the launch of the latest vehicle study by Swiss ve- hicle visionary Frank M. Rinder - knecht, the “microSNAP.” HART- ING was also there to present ele- ments of its infrastructure for auto- mated charging, which is systemat- ically expanding its e-mobility tech- nology. Rinspeed’s microSNAP is a modular concept vehicle whose chassis and bodies can be swapped out easily at any time, offering a new solution for delivery vehicles and taxis.
Rapid charging technology is a
prerequisite for ensuring that vehi- cles in the future are supplied with sufficient power, not in hours, but in minutes. HARTING has developed an

automatic charging solution, which uses robot-assisted guidance to bring the DC connector into the ve- hicle’s charging socket. After the charging process, the robot pulls off the connector and the vehicle is ready to go. The high-power DC supply is adapted optimally to the charging assistant.
HARTING and Rinspeed have
been collaborating since 2016. HARTING’s MICA® was integrated into the Etos vehicle for au- tonomous emission and condition monitoring. In 2017, HARTING used the miniMICA to support Rin- speed’s Oasis vehicle. Last year, the company provided rapid charging
technology for the SNAP. Contact: HARTING North
