Welcome

Welcome to my Chief Nurse Review for 17/18 which I hope you will enjoy reading. This provides an opportunity to share with you what amazing nursing, midwifery and allied health professions colleagues we have, who conti nually strive to deliver high quality care to our pati ents.

It has been a tough but exciti ng year with many developments and improvements. Resilience and commitment to do our best and maintain high standards despite the demands must be recognised and congratulated. Our clinical matrons have led from the front being highly visible and developing their skills to advanced practi ce level in order to provide great care at the same ti me as supporti ng and developing their teams and services.

My ward to board meeti ngs this year reminded me that we have so many things to be proud of.

The WOW! and DONA awards yet again receive record number of nominati ons demonstrati ng our staff make a diff erence every day. We have several individuals and teams being recognised at nati onal awards, with more to come in 18/19.

2018 celebrates 70 years of the NHS and provides the opportunity to refl ect on the huge contributi on that nurses, midwives and allied health professions make every day. We are lucky at Hampshire Hospitals to have so many dedicated staff .

As chief nurse I am immensely proud of the outstanding care we provide to our pati ents and would like to take the opportunity to say THANK YOU.

Jane Cummings, chief nursing offi cer for England,

Donna Green, chief nurse Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundati on Trust and Suzanne Rastrick, chief allied health professional offi cer of NHS England,
