Clinical supervision

Clinical supervision is off ered to all nurses, midwives and therapists across the Trust. It is a form of facilitated refl ecti on that helps staff learn from their experiences and develop personally.

Our preceptorship programme for newly- qualifi ed nurses includes an element of facilitated refl ecti on. This helps to give new staff the dedicated ti me and space to consider and learn from the challenges of adapti ng to life as a registered nurse.

Amy Williams, one of our students from Portsmouth University, said:

“It was a bit nerve- wracking at fi rst because it was a completely new environment for me, but my mentors and all the staff have been very supporti ve, while the learning environment Team are always available if I ever need help or to advice.”
