Developing new partnerships
As well as fi nding new ways to help students achieve their dreams of qualifying as nurses and midwives, our learning environment team is responsible for implementi ng and supporti ng nati onal initi ati ves such as increasing learner numbers and the nursing associate programme.
We recognise that learners are our future workforce and our Trust can off er them a wide range of experiences. With this perspecti ve, we have recently extended our existi ng university partnerships to include additi onal programmes, and are also pleased to have commenced two new partnerships, bringing our total university partnerships to seven.
Last August, we welcomed a group of Portsmouth University students studying adult nursing into their fi rst full hospital placements. We also agreed to off er a wide range of placements at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital for nursing and midwifery students from the University of West London’s Reading campus.
These join our current university partners of Southampton, Surrey, Open University and Solent University.
We are passionate about educati on and work very hard to ensure all nurses and midwives who join us on placements have the opportunity to experience working across a wide range of areas.
