Once again, one of our senior nurses has been accepted onto the Florence Nighti ngale Foundati on Aspiring Nurse Directors Leadership Scholarship.

Valenti ne Chiguvare, associate director of nursing clinical standards, is one of 14 applicants nati onally selected for the 14-month- programme for nurses and midwives showing potenti al to secure a future board positi on.

Valenti ne follows in the footsteps of Arlene Wellman, who was accepted onto the programme last year and has since been appointed as chief nurse at another trust:

“It was a tough applicati on process and I’m delighted to be one of those chosen to take part. The programme is a natural next step for me in my development as a nurse leader.

“I’m especially excited about getti ng my teeth into the quality improvement project. I’m planning to look into how we can make sure we admit pati ents to the most appropriate ward, so they can immediately get the care and treatment that they require.”
