12 Updated Chromatography Software is Newly Multilingual and with MS Capabilities

DataApex are happy to announce the release of Clarity version 5.0. Clarity 5.0 is newly Multilingual. Thanks to a dynamic localisation Clarity users can easily switch between languages. At this time the number of languages have also been extended so Clarity SW is available in English, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, French and German. DataApex pay attention to their Clarity localisation project since they are committed to provide ‘friendly’ SW and localisations that are appreciated by users.

Clarity Chromatography Software version 5.0 firstly includes a Mass Spectra (MS) data processing module as logical step for extending Clarity capabilities. Clarity is now able to evaluate spectral data from MS detectors; cooperation with NIST libraries has been incorporated. Clarity MS module is currently offered primarily as OEM solution.

DataApex’s portfolio of control modules has grown again. Clarity currently supports more than 450 instruments. Detailed information on the new version including a free demo version can be found on the company’s website. Based on DataApex unique policy any user with an older Clarity SW version can update SW free of charge.

Clarity Chromatography Software has a strong position in the chromatography data systems market. Clarity is highly regarded for its intuitive approach, excellent performance, cost-effectiveness and proficient technical support.

DataApex is solely focused on chromatography software development. A strong emphasis is placed on technological innovation, visionary adoption of new laboratory standards, best practices and extensive customer support. DataApex products are sold in over 80 countries around the world. Ten chromatography instrument manufacturers privately resell labelled versions of DataApex’s software.

26749pr@reply-direct.com Chromatography Purification Company Acquisition Announced

Gilson, an industry leader in manufacturing manual and automated liquid sample management products, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Armen SAS, a company specialising in manual preparative chromatography based on HPLC and CPC (or CCC: Counter Current chromatography) technologies. Scientists in biopharmaceutical, food and beverage, and environmental markets are under increasing pressure to improve the efficiency of their methods and eliminate impurities. Using more refined chromatography techniques is becoming increasingly important. Armen Instrument’s nearly 2 decades of experience developing pumping systems including high flow purification pumps in combination with Gilson’s expertise in precision sample preparation, semi-preparative to preparative chromatography, and the purification of small molecule compounds brings a diverse range of application and product opportunities to the marketplace.

“The addition of the Armen Instruments product line allows Gilson to strengthen its purification solutions for every sample type, from manual to automated systems, addressing lab, pilot, and process scale solutions.” said the CEO of Gilson. “Armen brings to Gilson their CCC technology, which is capable of quick and cost effective purification of natural, raw products in the food and beverage and pharmaceutical markets. This complements the Gilson product portfolio, enabling us to provide customers with a more complete range of extraction, purification, isolation and clean-up systems to help increase their efficiency, reproducibility and accuracy.”

The expansion of our capabilities with the Armen Instruments pumping technology allows Gilson to extend its leadership in preparative HPLC and purification, as well as position the Gilson product line to move into new, strategic markets. Next year Gilson will begin introducing Armen products under the Armen brand, integrating its bench top products into the Gilson branded product portfolio.

Preparative HPLC & SFC Purification Columns

HPLC Column Separates Wide Variety of Pharmaceutical Counterions

HPLC Separation Specialists

Thermo Fisher Scientific is pleased to announce the expansion of the Acclaim™ Trinity™ family of HPLC column with new Acclaim Trinity P2 columns. The new columns are designed to screen a wide range of counterions, including cations, anions, mono and multi-valent ions with one analysis, thanks to advanced mixed-mode Nanopolymer Silica Hybrid (NSH™) technology. Simple LC screening of the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) and their counterions can be achieved with high sensitivity using the Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ Corona™ Charged Aerosol Detector.

The chemistry is designed to provide spatial separation of the anion exchange and cation regions, resulting in greater resolution and selectivity control. Also, the particles’ hydrophilic surface makes the Acclaim Trinity P2 useful as a HILIC column. It provides cation exchange, anion exchange and HILIC retentions on the same stationery phase, helping customers develop robust, fast, generic methods to improve productivity and reduce cost.

Leaders in Innovative HPLC Column Technology for Over 30 Years

Core-Shell HPLC Columns With the BlueShell®

core-shell HPLC columns, Knauer aims at two different groups of users. The first group are laboratories working with UHPLC or fast HPLC systems for a maximum in resolution and separation speed. Using these optimised systems, BlueShell® columns with 2.6µm particles can reportedly even outperform some fully porous particle UHPLC columns and achieve up to 200,000 plates per meter. The second group of users owns standard HPLC equipment and is striving for performance improvements with the given systems. Knauer recommends the BlueShell®

classic columns with 4.5

diameter particles for these traditional HPLC systems and says that backpressure is not an issue. BlueShell®

core-shell columns are very

robust and pH stable due to advanced bonding technology. Available as C18, C18A, PFP, Phenyl-Hexyl, HILIC phase (2.6 µm) and C18 or C8 phase (4.5µm), these columns enable a wide range of applications.
